Mpumalanga police have launched a murder investigation following a shocking incident in which a woman allegedly killed her boyfriend, dismembered his body, and cooked parts of his remains.
The victim has been identified as 37-year-old Sibusiso Maseko, who was reportedly murdered during a heated altercation with his girlfriend. Authorities were called to the couple’s home after neighbors complained of a foul smell. On arrival, police discovered human remains hidden in plastic bags inside the house, while some parts were found cooked in pots on the stove.
Police confirmed that the woman was arrested on the scene and is facing charges of murder, defeating the ends of justice, and violating human dignity. She is expected to appear in court in the coming days.
The incident has left Maseko’s family devastated. Relatives told Daily Sun that he had only recently introduced the woman to them and that they had no indication of any danger.
“We are in pain. He was a peaceful person who had just overcome drug addiction and was rebuilding his life. We never thought something like this could happen,” a family member said.
