Woman Mistreating Her Drunk Boyfriend—Sparks Debate on Male Gender-Based Violence”

A video that has been circulating widely on social media shows a young woman kicking her boyfriend at a local tavern following an apparent dispute. The short clip, which has sparked intense debate online, highlights the growing awareness that men, too, can be victims of Gender-Based Violence (GBV).

In the video, the man, who appears to be in his twenties, seems heavily intoxicated, and the woman is seen repeatedly striking him. While the reasons for the altercation remain unclear, viewers have expressed a mix of shock, concern, and outrage at the incident. Many social media users have emphasized that violence in any form is unacceptable, regardless of gender.

The incident has reignited public discussions around the broader issue of GBV in South Africa, reminding people that it is not limited to women alone. Advocates have stressed that society must recognize that men can also face physical abuse, often in situations where their vulnerability may be overlooked.

Several members of the public have called on the South African Police Service (SAPS) to investigate the matter thoroughly. Many argued that incidents like this should not be dismissed simply because the victim is male, and that legal and social support systems must be accessible to all survivors of abuse.

Experts say that alcohol often plays a role in escalating disputes, and situations like this highlight the need for better awareness, education, and resources to prevent violence in social settings. As the video continues to circulate online, it serves as a stark reminder that GBV affects people of all genders, and that responsible behavior and intervention are essential to creating safer communities.

  1. Nobody deserves that kind of abuse, either way whether it’s a man/woman. She must face the consequences of his action, provided that guy will open a case or not…NO TO GBV!!!
